Electronic Work Capacity Certificate (eWCC)

Changes to accessing the electronic Work Capacity Certificate.

From 1 July 2021 an integrated solution will be available that will include more functionality. New functionality includes the ability:

  • for any doctor within the same practice to recall and clone a previously completed eWCC for the patient
  • for a doctor to recall and clone a previously completed eWCCs for multiple claims.

The current technology will be phased out by the end of 2021. ReturnToWorkSA will be providing further information and support to practices.

The electronic Work Capacity Certificate (eWCC) is an electronic format of the Work Capacity Certificate (PDF, 634 KB) that enables doctors to quickly and efficiently certify patient capacity and prescribe treatment.

ReturnToWorkSA has partnered with Telstra Health to create an integrated solution for Medical Director, Best Practice, Genie and MedTech users, enabling access to the eWCC from within the Practice Management Software via the HealthLinks Forms Library.

Medical Director users:

UHG Widget The UHG Widget was decommissioned on 30 June 2021. The eWCC is now available in the HealthLinks Forms Library. For those not already accessing the HealthLinks Forms Library, set up will be required by HealthLinks, this can be arranged by contacting 1800 952 252. Medical Director version 3.16 and above will be required. A User Guide is available for Medical Director users under the Useful Links tab. Please note it is subject to change with updates, ensure that you are utilising the latest version.

Launch Bar/ Adaptor The current solution utilising the Launch Bar or Adaptor will be phased out by 31 December 2021. The eWCC will only be available in the HealthLinks Forms Library. For those not already accessing the HealthLinks Forms Library, set up will be required by HealthLinks, this can be arranged by contacting 1800 952 252. Medical Director version 3.16 and above will be required. A User Guide is available for Medical Director users under the Useful Links tab. Please note it is subject to change with updates, ensure that you are utilising the latest version.

Best Practice users:

The current solution utilising the Launch Bar or Adaptor will be phased out by 31 December 2021. The eWCC will only be available in the HealthLinks Forms Library. For those not already accessing the HealthLinks Forms Library, set up will be required by HealthLinks, this can be arranged by contacting 1800 952 252. Best Practice version 1.9.0 and above will be required. A User Guide is available for Best Practice users under the Useful Links tab. Please note it is subject to change with updates, ensure that you are utilising the latest version.

Genie users:

The current solution utilising the Launch Bar or Adaptor will be phased out by 31 December 2021. The eWCC will only be available in the HealthLinks Forms Library. For those not already accessing the HealthLinks Forms Library, set up will be required by HealthLinks, this can be arranged by contacting 1800 952 252. Genie version 8.8 and above will be required. A User Guide is available for Genie users under the Useful Links tab. Please note it is subject to change with updates, ensure that you are utilising the latest version.

MedTech users:

The current solution utilising the Launch Bar or Adaptor will be phased out by 31 December 2021. The eWCC will only be available in the HealthLinks Forms Library. For those not already accessing the HealthLinks Forms Library, set up will be required by HealthLinks, this can be arranged by contacting 1800 952 252. MedTech version Evolution 10.4 and above will be required. A User Guide is available for MedTech users under the Useful Links tab. Please note it is subject to change with updates, ensure that you are utilising the latest version.

ZedMed users:

The current solution utilising the Launch Bar or Adaptor will be phased out by 31 December 2021. ReturnToWorkSA and Telstra Health are working with SedMed to identify an integrated solution for the eWCC.
