Job placement and support

Following a work injury, it is not always possible to resume your pre-injury position or return to the same workplace. If this is the case, your claims manager may refer you to a specialist service that prepares you for gaining new employment, including fit for work or job placement services.

Fit for work services

Fit for work services assist workers and their support team to develop a plan that will increase capacity to work. As part of this service, a consultant will discuss alternative suitable employment opportunities with you to prepare you for job seeking. They will keep your claims manager up-to-date on the progress of your return to work plan, and make recommendations regarding your job seeking needs.

Job placement services

Job placement services help workers with an injury to find suitable alternative employment if they're unable to return to work with their pre-injury employer. As part of this service, a consultant will assess your employment background and consider your transferable skills. They will then develop a plan to assist you to build relevant job skills and gain suitable employment.

Returning to work can be the best thing for your recovery, health and wellbeing. If you have questions about these services, please contact your claims manager in the first instance or call 13 18 55.
