What does the recruitment process look like at ReturnToWorkSA?

Our recruitment process: Step 1: Apply. Step 2: Shortlist. Step 3: Interview. Step 4: Background checks. Step 5: Offer. Step 6: Welcome to the team

Our recruitment process is designed to ensure we find and attract the best talent. Here’s what to expect when you apply to join our team:

1. Apply now
View all our open vacancies on our website, where each advertisement contains a link to the relevant position description and allows you to complete an online application form through our recruitment portal. Make sure to highlight your skills, experience and what excites you about joining our team in your cover letter. If a job that suits your skills and experience isn’t listed, you can register for job alerts so you don’t miss out on upcoming opportunities.

2. Shortlist
Our interview panel will review your application against the selection criteria. Shortlisting commences immediately so be sure to get your application in as soon as possible. Shortlisted candidates will receive a phone call from our Recruitment Advisor and be invited to complete a psychometric assessment. Candidates whose skills and experience don’t align with the role requirements and do not progress to interview stage will be notified by email.

3. Interviews
Following completion of your psychometric assessment, we’ll invite you to a face-to-face interview (MS Teams interviews can also be arranged by request/if needed). During the interview, we’ll give you an overview of the organisation and the role, and then ask you behavioural and technical questions relevant to the role based on your skills and experience.

4. Background checks
Following your interview, we may ask to contact your nominated references. We may conduct reference checks for all considered candidates as part of the selection process. Some roles may require further checks such as police checks, credit checks, qualification verification and a second interview. We carefully consider all feedback before making a decision on our preferred candidate. Unsuccessful interviewed candidates will be contacted by a phone call. Our intention is to complete this process within a few business days of completion of all candidate interviews.

5. Offer
Once any reference and/or background checks are satisfactory, we’ll contact the successful candidate via phone to extend a verbal offer to join our team. Due to the nature of contacting referees, this process- external site can take up to two business days.

6. Welcome to the team
Congratulations! Once you have accepted the offer, you will receive a contract via email and continue to our onboarding process.

How long does the recruitment process take?
Our recruitment process varies in time depending on the skill set we are seeking. We aim to review applications as soon as we receive them; however, we know that at times it can take longer than 1-2 weeks, so we strive to advise candidates of their application status as soon as possible.
