Return to Work Coordinator certification training

An employer must ensure their Return to Work Coordinator has completed the required training by an approved provider- external site- external site.

The interactive training course can be delivered face-to-face or online using the provider’s preferred online platform.  Please note that if the participant is attending an online/virtual course, it is a requirement that they have their camera on for the duration of the course.

During the course participants will learn about:

• the Return to Work scheme
• the role of the Return to Work Coordinator
• how to prepare the workplace to manage work injury
• steps to follow after work injury
• how to communicate effectively
• key stakeholders in the work injury process
• identifying and overcoming common barriers
• support services and resources.

Once completed, a certificate will be issued to the participant. There is no requirement for further certification. Proof of certification will need to be provided to coordinators@rtwsa.com- external site- external site if undertaking the Return to Work Coordinator role for a new or additional employer.

Important: To be compliant with the Return to Work Act 2014 (SA) Return to Work Coordinator’s must be based in South Australia. Interstate participants may complete the training for education purposes only, but cannot be appointed as a Return to Work Coordinator in South Australia.  For further clarity, speak with your training provider or contact the Employer Education team on (08) 8238 5958.
