Lump sum payments for non-economic loss
For people who were injured before 1 July 2015 and had a permanent impairment assessment before 1 July 2015
People who suffered a work injury prior to 1 July 2015 have until 30 June 2016 to make a further claim for a lump sum payment for non-economic loss.
For this to be considered, the person injured must have had a permanent impairment assessment prior to 1 July 2015 which:
- determined they are entitled to a lump sum payment for non-economic loss and
- did not include an assessment of all impairments caused by their work injury.
People who wish to make a further claim for a lump sum payment for non-economic loss are encouraged to talk to their case manager as soon as possible to discuss their eligibility.
More information is available in the Regulation 5 Return to Work (Transitional Arrangements) (General) Regulations 2015.
