New Remissions and Supplementary Payments Scheme

ReturnToWorkSA has published a new Remissions and Supplementary Payments Scheme (RASP), which outlines supplementary payments and remissions for employers which may be applied under section 147 (1) of the Return to Work Act 2014.

Changes to the RASP were necessary to ensure the RASP scheme is consistent with the requirements of the Act and the Return to Work Regulations 2015. These include changes to:

  • ensure the schedule of non-compliances detailed within the RASP emphasises the essential obligations of an employer, relevant to the achievement of the objects of the Act, where the contravention or failure to comply with the relevant provision does not constitute a summary offence
  • ensure consistency with the ReturnToWorkSA premium model
  • reflect the value of the supplementary payments in response to removal of employer categories (small, medium and large) from the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Regulations 2010.

The new RASP was gazetted in the South Australian Government Gazette on Thursday 20 October 2016. Please note this replaces an earlier version from 13 October 2016 that was published with an omission.
